A skylight filter is most commonly used as a way of protecting your lens. Made from high quality optical glass, the skylight filter has no effect on your images but will protect the front element of your lens from scratches, dust and moisture. It doesn't take a genius to work out that replacing a damaged skylight filter is cheaper than replacing an expensive camera lens. Simply select the correct sized skylight filter for your lens, screw it on and leave in place. Your lens cap will attach to the outer ring of the skylight filter.
