What is a Pap Strap?

The Pap Strap is a new design of camera strap that connects to your camera using the tripod screw thread socket. The strap is worn over your shoulder and across the chest like a postman carries his bag of mail. A unique sliding carabiner style mechanism allows you to lift the camera up to your eye without the camera strap moving, becoming twisted, or getting in the way.

What are the advantages of using a PAP strap compared to a normal neck strap?

1. The weight of your camera is supported by your shoulder and across your chest which eliminates neck ache and makes the camera feel extremely light.

2. The camera is conveniently located at waist level to your side meaning the camera does not bounce off your stomach as you walk.

3. The camera can be lifted up to your eye in a fraction of a second without having to wrestle with the strap.

4. The strap connects to the camera using the tripod socket so there are no strap ends hanging across your face when shooting in horizontal or vertical format.

5. The design of the Pap Strap allows the camera to sit under your unzipped coat to keep it free of rain and inclement weather whilst remaining at the ready instantaneously. This also keeps it out of the view of potential thieves.

6. Security. Thieves will find it virtually impossible to snatch your camera because the strap goes across your body and is also ridiculously strong. The strap is so comfortable that you won't need to take it off when you stop for a rest or refreshments.

7. Fast. After a few minutes of practice you will find that using this strap is even quicker than a standard neck strap and a whole lot more convenient.

These straps are such a revelation that I use one myself and will never go back to a normal strap. I can walk around all day with a Canon EOS 5D MkII and 70-200 f2.8L lens permanently attached (at least 4kg of camera!). This was virtually impossible with a normal neck strap until now.
